Hello again!
For some reason the best time of day for me to write my blog is actually the night time! It's after midnight, but for some reason I'm jazzed up enough to write. I don't know why my last post hasn't posted yet, but I hope it will. It's listed as I published on that day, so it must be all right. First of all, thanks so much for everyone's comments. It's nice to know people enjoy reading what I write, and it's motivating to me to keep posting!
Well, this round has still been harder. I really can get going eating those peanuts, cheese, and peanut butter, so my weight has stabilized more than two pounds above my LIW. At least it doesn't seem to be going up any more. I'm in phase 4 right now, and I've added a few carbs here and there, but I tend to stay mostly on phase 3 foods--which for me includes all kinds of fruits as well. The other night I went to a fund-raiser dinner for our local pregnancy care center, which I attend every year, and they serve a banquet meal. So I was faced with hard choices. I just ate the chicken, vegetables, salad without the dressing, and a tiny bit of the gravy and mashed potatoes. I was going to skip the dessert, but it was already at my table, so it was looking at me--a round little pumpkin pie, a sort of torte I think they call it. I rationalized I would just eat the pumpkin part, and I ate that first, but then I went ahead and ate the crust anyway! Whoops! I could also tell when I got home that eating things with msg and preservatives set my cravings off again too. At least I knew what it was and was able to resist somewhat.
I find that I need to be eating more vegetables--but it's so easy to grab a piece of cheese or peanut butter and apple. No cooking involved! I like to cook to some extent, but it's just the time factor, and then having to clean it all up. See, my favorite types of vegetables are cooked--especially with coconut oil on them. I actually have kept copies of lots of different recipes I think sound fabulous and really want to try--I just haven't gotten around to them yet! Have you heard of the "Whoopsie" breads--low carb buns and bread! I can't wait to try them, yet haven't made them yet. Also cauliflower pizza sounds great, and so does phase 3 friendly ice cream! There's also a pizza that uses ground beef as the crust! Doesn't that sound interesting! There's a link to all these recipes that I can post here if anyone is interested. I'll let you know if I get around to making them.
I'm also trying to decide when I will actually start the phase 2 again. Lori V. said she did 8 rounds and only left a few weeks in between! Whew! I'm hoping I won't have to do that many rounds. If I keep losing at my current rate, I will do at least 6 rounds--2 down, 4 to go!
But anyway--I was thinking I would stay in phase 4 until after Christmas, but a short round is possible between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If I wasn't concerned about leaving the recommended amount of time in between rounds, I would go ahead and do it. It's just that Dr. Simeons said to leave greater and greater amounts of time in between rounds, and he really is the expert. On the other hand, I'd like to get going again. Any advice out there?
Well it's getting to the wee hours of the night, and I'd better finish! Until next time, Merry
