Preparing
Hi, everyone! I'm one of the lucky ones who has received her hcg this week, and am now waiting for the rest of the supplies. David at the Yahoo forum said they would probably be shipped last Wednesday, so it's just a matter of time now.
In a way I'm anxious to get started, but I'm also somewhat nervous too. I've been reading up on this protocol since January, ordering things online, trying to see what I need, etc. etc. And now that it's almost here, the reality is setting in! This is going to be a major lifestyle change, not only for me but for my family. It's been so hard switching over to organic foods, since we no longer have a health food store in town--but one is being planned by the local organic network. I bought some organic chicken breasts at Kroger's and as I weighed out the portions to freeze, I was amazed at how small three and a half ounces are! Not even a whole chicken breast! I can see why we can get close to protein deficience at the end of phase 2.
But I'm taking heart, and planning to drive to another town to get all my fresh organics when I need to (Krogers has some too.) I've also been reading labels and am amazed at how many things have msg hidden in them, using different names! I wish they would just come right out and say it! Also, lots of high fructose corn syrup in things. Sigh. I never realized just how bad some of these foods really are. But I made the jump of buying expensive organic milk and higher priced organic eggs, so it's starting to feel more normal.
Anyway--here's to the waiting game! Until next time, Merry

Hi Meredith,
Glad to see you got your blog up and running!!
And kudos to you there is no way I would have driven to another town to buy organic food. Wow with just typing that I now see how lazy I have become!
You have spiked my curiosity you have to post a picture of how small 3 1/2 ounces really are, I have never measured before and am curious!
Good luck and take care of yourself!! :-)
How are you doing on the diet? Have you started yet?
David
Hi Merry,
Like David I'm curious too about whether you've lost weight. It's quite a commitment, but look at the alternative. I picked you to blog with as I'm just a year older and weigh a little less than you. I've been switching to whole foods and doing my best to avoid process goods. To answer Tammy's question. 3.5 oz of meat is a slightly smaller than a deck of cards. Please fill us in on your progress. We're all here to support you. We have you to look up to in your progress, your journey. I'm waiting for my hcg to arrive any day. I'm excited too get started. I'm taking a trip to Massachusettes bay area and I need to be able to sit on the plane. That bothers me more than wondering what clothes I'm going to wear. Oh well, this is about you. Go girl, go! -Cathy in Austin
Hello, Tammy, David and Cathy! I just realized I was getting comments and I needed to write back. I think I'm supposed to answer them here, is that right? Or am I supposed to email you directly?
Anyway, as you can see from what I just posted, I just started shots today, and I'm very excited! Thanks SO much for you well-wishes and encouragement. I just know this is my answer to prayer and I sense my life is about to change. Cathy, thanks also for your kind words! I have been to Austin many years ago, and I used to live in the Tyler, Texas area. I have a very good friend who lives in Waco now, but grew up in San Marcos, not far from Austin. What do you do there? I'd love to hear a bit more about what you're going through too! Feel free to write any time! Thanks again to al, Merry
