GOING DOWN!
Hi, All! I'm sorry I've been busy and just realized it's been too long since I posted. A lot has happened--and I'm now happy to report a total of 16 pounds lost! Yay! This is day 18 of VLC diet, so it's almost a pound a day.
I've been experimenting with different recipes a bit, and have found my all time favorite for this protocol: spagetti! I ordered some of the Miracle Noodles at miraclenoodle.com, and I have to agree they are truly a miracle. They have no carbs or calories, and take on the taste of whatever you put them in. Basically, to make the spagetti, I brown organic hamburger meat in water and spices, add about a cup of chopped tomatoes, a little stevia, and boil it down a bit. Then add the miracle noodles, and voila! Real spagetti! Whenever I make it, I saute fresh garlic, and my 12 year old son Andy always looks at me enviously, wishing he could have what I'm eating! "Oh, that smells SO good!" It also makes a great chile without the noodles.
I encounted one of my first big challenges last week, when I had to go to a family funeral--afterward, everyone was invited to a meal at the church. I brought my own, and somehow I was satisfied munching my apple and celery sticks while everyone else had other stuff--it was amazing! I just focused on other people, and it wasn't that hard.
My other big challenge at the moment is that I now have come down with a big cold--I had a really sore throat the last two days, and then today it was all up my nose. Whew, I've been tired. My sister said I'm probably detoxing, or going through a "healing crisis," which I don't doubt. I hope I'm over it soon.
I also had a wonderful chat with Victoria Smith of significanthealing.com--she gave me some wonderful advice, especially for my husband who has fibromyalgia and arthritis really bad. I ordered some supplements from her, and plan to order more that I believe will really help, according to what she is telling me. So I'm excited about that! Basically, she says that our problems have to do with candida overgrowth, and if we do a cleansing for that we both will be feeling a lot better. I've started taking CandidaG, which is supposed to help with sugar and carb cravings (I've had a few), and also liquid zeolites, which I already had gotten. Victoria is so helpful, however, and I was really happy that she gives FREE consultations by phone--because as always, money is tight. I'm just thrilled we have some tools to help us on our journey.
By the way, my husband Robert has also started his own diet, and has lost some too. He's not ready yet to start hcg yet, but I'm hoping we'll eventually do it together. I guess he's kind of in phase 1!
Well, thanks for reading--I'll try to keep you posted a bit better! Until next time, Merry
